Match Report - 14 Mar 2015, Harris Academy FP Hockey Club 1st Team Outdoor beat Perthshire
Perthshire looked to press up on Harris from the start of the game but there were no real chances for either side until the 9th minute when a Perthshire shot from the top of the D was deflected into the goal. Harris responded well and Greg Whittet found Albert Rowling with a good pass down the left and he did well to cross for Gavin Martin whose deflected shot was well saved by the Perthshire keeper. In the 11th minute Harris won the first short corner of the match and Gavin's shot from the corner was again well saved. Ferg Wilson won another corner in the 13th minute and from this Neil Martin had his shot saved. Harris missed out again from their fourth short corner in the 15th minute. However, the equaliser came in the 25th minute through Euan Simpson after Harris were awarded a penalty flick when Albert was fouled in the D.Just as it looked like the teams would turn around level a great pass into the D from Greg found Ferg who deflected it into the goal. Shortly after Ferg nearly increased the Harris lead but his attempted flick over the keeper was well saved. Ferg's pre-match shower was clearly paying dividends.
Half Time Harris 2 - 1 Perthshire
Two minutes into the second half Harris won a corner after Albert was pushed as he drove towards the Perthshire goal. The corner led to a second corner and Albert scored to give Harris a two goal lead. Two minutes later a great passing move saw Marc Callaghan find Gavin and his pass to Greg was finished well. Harris continued to have chances and a great solo run from Ethan Drew in the 45th minute took him deep into the Perthshire half and after a 1-2 with Albert at the top of the D he just failed to collect the ball for a shot. Albert and Gavin both had shots saved before Ami Bhachu scored a great goal in the 53rd minute from a tight angle following a pass from Chico. Harris missed from a short corner in the 62nd minute but a minute later Greg broke through the Perthshire defence and passed to Albert who rounded the keeper and put Harris 6-1 ahead. With five minutes of the game left and Harris attacking the Perthshire goal a yellow card was awarded against Harris and they were left to play the remainder of the game without a goalkeeper. Iain Mitchell playing kicking back made a good save and then Gavin turned Perthshire's first short corner of the game past the post for a long corner. Harris survived the late pressure until the last minute when Perthshire won another corner. This led to an overtime corner and Perthshire scored their second goal from this.
