Match Report - 07 Oct 2017, Harris Academy FP Hockey Club 1st Team Outdoor lost to Falkirk
Falkirk opened the scoring after 15 minutes when a ball into the D was deflected into the corner of the goal. Ten minutes later Falkirk went two ahead when Harris failed to clear a flick into the D. Harris replied three minutes later with Greg Whittet scoring from a penalty flick. Four minutes later the sides were level after Pete Black sent the ball through to Greg and from just inside the Falkirk half he ran through, rounded the keeper and hit the ball into the goal. Just before half-time Harris were left a player down when Duncan in goal was harshly green carded. Harris lost a goal at the start of the second half before getting back to eleven men. Five minutes into the second half Greg nearly completed his hat-trick from a Kieran Friel pass. Four minutes later Greg narrowly missed out again when he went 1v1 with the Falkirk keeper. Harris then lost three players in quick succession with two yellows and a green card. In each case it looked like the three players involved won the ball cleanly and were harshly penalised for their tackles. While down to eight players Harris lost a fourth goal in the 55th minute. There were chances for both sides before the end of the game and two more cards for each side. Although the pitch didn't help the quality of the play there were no problems between the players on opposing sides and yet there were almost double figures in cards.
