Successful Return to Outdoor Hockey
Harris 1s and 2s were back in action for outdoor league games after the winter break  with both teams recording good wins.

Harris 3 - 1 Aberdeen University

National League Division 3
Saturday 16th February 2019 at DISC
Harris opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Gav Martin intercepted a defensive pass and squared the ball for Ferg Wilson to score in his comeback game for Harris. The lead was shortlived however with Aberdeen University equalising from a short corner three minutes before half-time.
Harris made a great start to the second half with Ferg Wilson providing the assist for Grant McInroy to put Harris ahead in the 39th minute. Only a tremendous save from the visiting keeper denied Niall McKay from putting Harris further ahead two minutes later but the third goal came in the 43rd minute with Ferg Wilson flicking the ball high past the keeper. In the last quarter of the game it was the University team who had the upper hand and missed from several short corners with Duncan McNicoll in the Harris goal making some fine saves during this period to  help Harris collect three points.

Wanders IV  0 - 3 Harris II
Midland League Division 1
Saturday 16th February 2019 at Dalnacraig

In a more even 2nd half both sides had chances but Ross Dyer sealed the game for Harris when he slid in at the far post to deflect the ball over the line from a Ewan Muirhead assist.

Harris Academy U18   3 - 3   Inverness/Kingussie U18
(Inverness/Kingussie win 3-1 on penalties)

Aspire Cup Quarter Final
Monday 12th November at Riverside
The game started at a fast pace with both teams moving the ball around well before Harris took the lead after 11 minutes from a short corner with Fraser Allan flicking into the top corner of the net. Four minutes later Aiden Davidson had his netbound shot blocked and Fraser Allan scored from the resultant penalty flick. A minute later Ross Dyer and Ewan Muirhead combined to win  a short corner which was well saved by the Inverness keeper. Inverness came back into the game right at the end of the first half and scored from a short corner in the 34th minute. In the first 20 minutes of the second half both teams missed short corners before Inverness scored from one to level the game. The visitors took the lead with 10 minutes to go, again from a short corner. Harris fought back and flicked wide from a short corner with seven minutes left to play. The equaliser for Harris came with three minutes to go when Eli Ross won the ball and played it through to Fraser Allan to flick high past the keeper and complete his hat-trick.
The game was decided by penalties with Inverness/Kingussie winning 3-1 to take them through to the semi-final.

Harris 2 - 1 Greenock
National League Division 3
Saturday 13th October at DISC
The teams cancelled each other out in the first quarter of the game. In the second quarter both teams missed from short corners before Euan Simpson put Harris ahead from a penalty flick just before half-time.
Harris started the second half well with Fraser Allan going close and then good work from Greg Whittet led to Grant McInroy firing wide of goal. Greenock pressed for an equaliser which came in the 25th minute from their second short corner of the half. After the initial shot was saved by Duncan, Greenock were first to the rebound and levelled the scores. Harris responded two minutes later when Fraser Allan collected the ball on the 23 metre line, beat two players and  flicked high into the the net over the advancing keeper. Greenock fought back again and missed from two short corners in the closing stages.

October 2018

Strathclyde University 9 - 4 Harris
National League Division 3
Saturday 6th October at Millerston
Similar to their first league game Harris, with five changes to their team, got off to a terrible start going three down in the first seven minutes. The second goal shouldn't have counted as it was kicked forward towards goal before being tapped in and the the first and third were from short corners. Another two goals in three minutes for the home side in the second quarter of the game left Harris with an impossible task. Harris regrouped at half time and got an early goal through Dave Somerville after good lead-up work from Greg Whittet. Another short corner made it 6-1 for Strathclyde midway through the second half before a good run by Greg Whittet beating three men and hitting a reverse shot at goal was deflected in by Grant McInroy. Strathclyde extended their lead further with a goal from open play and another short corner. A good drag-flicked short corner from Fraser Alllan was cancelled out by a Strathclyde goal. A great goal to finish from Fraser Allan beating three players and reverse hitting past the home keeper for his second goal of the game. As the week before a second half draw showed fight, skill and good goals but the game was lost in the first half.
