Match Report

Match Report - 16 Oct 2012, Harris Academy FP Hockey Club 3rd Team Indoor lost to Granite City

The third team played with a squad of 6 players against Granite City 1s with of the team schoolboys. They put in a good performance against their National League rivals. Throughout the game the team defended well and managed to cause GC problems when they moved into attack. Granite City opened the scoring after 10 minutes and then took the score to 3-0 before Sam Taylor pulled back a goal for Harris. It was interesting to see one of the GC players make an extended appeal to the umpire for a penalty after he was tackled by Ally in goal. Funnily it was the same player who denied Harris a 'stonewall' penalty on Saturday in Aberdeen when he umpired the 1's game against Aberdeen University. Sam scored what looked like a good second goal for Harris but the goal was disallowed. Granite City went 4-1 up from a penalty before Ethan scored a late goal for Harris to make it 4-2. Finlay Wright and Callum Hughes were solid at the back and passed the ball well, Ethan put in a lot of good work in the middle and Sam Taylor and Sam Owen Hughes played well up front. Ally had an excellent game in goal.
