Match Report - 15 Dec 2012, Harris Academy FP Hockey Club 2nd team indoor lost to Stirling Wanderers
Harris were 2-1 down at half time in what was a fairly level first half. Harris had a few chances from short corners but were unable to score and Stevie in goal had a good few saves.Harris were restricted to playing half court due to the big pitch and lack of players.
Stirling scored again early in the second half before Sam scored his second of the game. The score remained at 3-2 for some time but Stirling went on to get the next goal to lead 4-2. Harris then started to press Stirling which they found difficult to handle. This led to 5-6 shots on target and a penalty, which was missed. The Stirling goalkeeper also made some good saves near the end.
The Harris team showed great disipline but just lacked the little flair or energy to cause Stirling more problems during the whole game. Stevie was asked to be more attack-minded in his D by closing down players in his area, which he did well. Sam-Owen Hughes in his first game at this level scored 2 goals and impressed with his awareness and good positioning. Ethan was very workmanlike and it was a pity he could not get some time up front to create more of a threat. Cameron and Finlay played solidy at the back throughout the game with Finlay showing that age and size doesn't matter by winning some great 50/50 tackles against bigger and stronger players.
