Match Report - 21 Apr 2013, Harris Academy FP Hockey Club 1st Team Outdoor beat Perthshire
Perthshire opened the scoring after 13 minutes. From a short corner the rebound was manfully stopped by Neil Williams and Perth scored from the resulting penalty. Five minutes later Albert Rowling equalised from a powerful short corner drag flick high into the net.Five minutes after this Harris were ahead when Hamish Galt burst into the D and sent in a powerful cross from the right which was deflected in by Neil Martin running to the near post. Shortly before half time Perthshire equalised when a cross ball went through a ruck of players and was put into the net at the far post. Almost immediately Albert restored the Harris lead with a strong run along the baseline on the left before flicking it over the goalkeeper into the net.Half time score 3-2 to Harris.The score remained the same until half way through the second half when Perthshire equalised. Shortly after this there was a yellow card for Perthshire for a dangerous tackle on Albert. With time running out a break through the middle from Albert and a square ball left Greg Whittet with a tap in at the far post. Harris then sealed a good victory when Neil Martin rounded the goalkeeper and hit it towards goal. Greg coming in on the far post made sure by deflecting it into the net to make the final score 5-3 to Harris. A good team performance but special mention to the three schoolboys in the side Stevie McIlravey, Finlay Wright and Hamish Galt who all played a major part in this win.
