Match Report - 20 Oct 2013, Harris Academy FP Hockey Club 1st Team Outdoor beat Strathclyde University
Harris got off to a flying start and in the first minute a reverse stick drive across the goal by Albert Rowling was narrowly missed at the far post by Neil Martin. Ferg Wilson then had a couple of opportunities to open the scoring before Harris scored in 9 minutes when Neil Martin deflected an Albert Rowling pass into the net.The same combination nearly increased the lead for Harris but Neil's shot hit the post. Strathclyde started to come more into the game and captain Ben Connelly scored from the top of the D with a reverse shot to equalise in the 22nd minute. A minute later Albert Rowling put Harris back into the lead with a great drive and shot past the keeper. Eight minutes later Strathclyde were level again when Tory Alexander scored from close range.
Half time 2-2.
Harris started the second half well and after three minutes Albert Rowling scored from a short corner to put Harris ahead. Again Strathclyde fought back and 25 minutes into the second half a quick counter-attack saw them equalise through Tory Alexander. With the game heading for a 3-3 draw as in the corresponding game last season, Harris won a short corner and Albert Rowling scored to put Harris ahead and the game finished 4-3 to Harris.
