Match Report - 09 Aug 2014, Harris Academy FP Hockey Club 1st Team Outdoor lost to Wanderers
Harris started the season with a high scoring friendly game against Wanderers at DISC. Wanderers got off to the better start and Ally made a good double save from a short corner after 3 minutes. However a minute later Wanderers went ahead. Harris settled and in a good counter attack after 8 minutes Greg Whittet just failed to find Albert with a through ball. Harris went level in 14 minutes after Greg beat three defenders and placed his shot past Lewis Beer in the Wanderers goal. Wanderers missed from two short corners before half time but Harris remained dangerous on the break. Craig Edward broke down the right but couldn't get his final pass to Albert and in the last minute of the first half a great long pass from Steven Moir found Greg but his shot was well saved.

Duncan McNicoll came on for his first team debut at the start of the second half and almost straight away he had to make a good clearance from a Wanderers attack.Five minutes into the second half Wanderers took the lead but Harris equalised half way through the second half. Albert sent a great ball through to Greg who had his first shot saved but Sam Owen-Hughes following up collected the ball and squared to Greg who put it into the empty net. There were then 4 goals in the space of 5 minutes. Wanderers went 4-2 ahead with goals after 19 and 21 minutes. Greg completed his hat-trick in the 22nd minute after collecting a good through ball from Albert but almost immediately Wanderers scored again to make it 5-3. With 5 minutes to go there was still time for two more goals. Wanderers scored after 30 minutes and with two minutes to go a cross from Albert was deflected over the keeper by Pete Black as he slid in to meet the cross.
