Match Report - 12 Oct 2014, Harris Academy FP Hockey Club 1st Team Outdoor lost to Perthshire
Harris started well and forced four short corners in the opening seven minutes of the match.In the thirteenth a Neil Martin pass found Greg Whittet who had his shot well saved. Harris had another short corner miss before Perthshire opened the scoring from their first short corner in the 20th minute. Perthshire nearly increased their lead shortly after from a long through ball but Grant McInroy saved well. Pete Black then brought out a good save from the Perthshire keeper at the other end and from the rebound the ball was worked to Greg who equalised for Harris. In the last minute of the first half Perthshire regained the lead with a shot from the top of the D.
A quick double from Perthshire at the start of the second half gave them a three goal lead. Seven minutes into the second half Harris were back in the game when Iain Mitchell sent the ball to Marc Callaghan and his pass found Greg who fired the ball into the corner of the net. A yellow card for Perthshire three minutes later allowed Harris to benefit from the extra man and after Steven Moir passed to Greg, his shot was saved and Neil put in the rebound to make it 4-3. Three minutes later Finlay Wright drove down the right and passed to Greg who shot wide. Harris then forced two short corners and had the ball in the net but the first shot was just above board height. With ten minutes to go Perthshire received two more yellow cards and Harris one. Harris came closest to equalising when a long through ball from Euan Simpson was sent just wide of goal by Steven Moir.
