Match Report - 22 Feb 2015, Harris Academy FP Hockey Club 1st Team Outdoor beat Aberdeen University
Harris opened the scoring in the 13th minute. Ethan Drew and Ferg Wilson played a 1-2 down the left hand side before getting the ball to Albert Rowling who drove from left to right before firing the ball into the net to open the scoring. Five minutes later Aberdeen University equalised from a counter-attack. In the 22nd minute Duncan McNicoll saved well to keep Harris on level terms. Harris had more of the ball now and in the 28th minute they missed from a short corner. With a minute to go in the first half Finlay Wright sent the ball through to Ferg Wilson and his shot was saved but Neil Martin picked up the rebound and put the ball into the corner of the goal to give Harris a 2-1 half-time lead.
Harris made the perfect start to the second half, scoring in the first minute. Albert Rowling dispossessed a defender before scoring with a reverse hit. Harris won a short corner four minutes later when Ferg Wilson had his shot from an Albert cross blocked. Harris missed this and a minute later Finlay Wright won another corner which was also missed. Harris were pressing for a fourth goal but it was the students who got back into the game in the 8th minute when David Healy's shot was deflected into the goal off a Harris player. A minute later Harris restored their two goal lead. Neil Martin dispossessed an Aberdeen defender and passed to Albert and his pass was finished off by Ferg Wilson. In the 20th minute of the second half Harris went further ahead. Marc Callaghan passed to Gavin Martin and his shot from the top of the D was deflected off a defender's stick over the keeper. Two minutes later it was 6-2 when Ami Bhachu and Neil Martin combined well before Neil's passed to Albert to finish off.The seventh goal for Harris came four minutes from time when Neil pressed a defender and Greg dispossessed him before hitting a powerful shot into the corner of the net.
