Match Report - 12 Sep 2015, Harris Academy FP Hockey Club 1st Team Outdoor lost to Granite City
Harris started well and forced a corner in the 2nd minute with Euan Simpson's flick saved by the home keeper. However, a minute later, Harris went ahead when a cross from Gav Martin into the D was deflected into the corner of the goal by Ferg Wilson. It took the home side only a couple of minutes to equalise with a turn and shot from the top of the D. The middle of the first half was fairly even before Harris put in a strong finish to the first period. Jack Dyer picked up the ball inside the 23 and found Ferg Wilson with a square pass. Ferg drove right, beat a defender and then hit a fierce drive past the keeper into the corner of the goal. Shortly after this a cross from Gav Martin was narrowly missed by Steven Moir sliding in on goal.
Half Time GCW 1-2 Harris
Both sides missed short corners in the first three minutes of the second half but another short corner two minutes later for GCW led to a penalty flick which got the home side back on level terms. Neither team created many chances during the next period of play. GCW scored the vital goal after 69 minutes and although Harris pushed more players forward in an attempt to get an equaliser they didn't really trouble the home keeper.
Final score GCW 3- 2 Harris
