Match Report - 08 Oct 2016, Harris Academy FP Hockey Club 1st Team Outdoor drew with Greenock
Greenock went two ahead after two minutes with both goals coming from short corners.Four minutes later Harris got back into the game when Grant McInroy deflected in a Niall Mackay cross. Greg Whittet came close to equalising from a short corner in the 13th minute. His flick from the corner was saved and his shot from the rebound was deflected over the bar off a defender's stick. Five minutes later Greg set up Grant McInroy with a chance and in the 23rd minute Niall Mackay put the ball past the keeper but there was a deflection from a foot on the way. Greenock missed a couple of chances from short corners before Greg beat a couple of players and squared to Ferg Wilson who put the ball into the corner of the goal two minutes before half time.
Harris opened well and Ferg had a shot saved in the first minute. Greenock had opportunities from three short corners before Harris went ahead with their best move of the match in the 48th minute. Gav Martin played the ball out right to Grant Robertson who came off his marker and played a reverse pass to Greg Whittet. Greg beat two players and had his shot at goal saved but Ferg Wilson scored from the rebound. The lead was shortlived with Greenock equalising a minute later. Two minutes later and Greenock were ahead. Harris missed from short corners in the 54th and 72nd minute and Grant Robertson flicked over the bar in the 73rd minute. A cross ball from Steven Moir was deflected wide by Greg before the equaliser came four minutes from time. Pete Black played an aerial which was missed by a Greenock defender and Ferg Wilson gathered it and completed his hat-trick. Greenock finished with two short corners, the last in overtime but both were well defended by Harris.
