Match Report - 14 Oct 2017, Harris Academy FP Hockey Club 1st Team Outdoor lost to Carnegie
Harris were forced into another reshuffle for their home game against Carnegie with seven forced changes from last weeks team. This combined with another six players unavailable through injury, illness and work commitments is really pushing playing resources to the limit. Gooalkeeping is a strength at the moment with four keepers in the pool of 13 for this game.
After defending a short corner in the first minute Harris had a great chance to open the scoring when Grant Robertson burst through the middle only to be stopped by the visiting keeper sliding out to block. Shortly after this a mix-up in the Carnegie defence left Grant McInroy with only the keeper to beat but he shot wide. Carnegie then took control of the match with four first half goals.
Harris regrouped well at half-time defensively but lost a couple of quick goals midway through the second half. A good shot from Grant McInroy was then well saved before Carnegie increased their lead from a short corner. Harris finally got on the scoresheet five minutes before the end when Gav Martin sent a pass through to Grant McInroy who found Andrew Kernohan in the D and his powerful reverse hit shot beat the Carnegie keeper. Specia mention to 14 year old Robbie Somerville who stepped up for his first full National League game.
