Match Report - 17 Jan 2019, Harris Academy FP Hockey Club 1st Team Indoor lost to Wanderers II
Harris went behind in 7 minutes following a turnover in their own half. They quickly equalised from a short corner with Fraser Allan driving wide of the gk and flicking high into the net. Shortly after Grant McInroy narrowly failed to get on the end of a long through ball from Pete Black. After defending a Wanderers short corner Harris took the lead when Grant McInroy fired against the Wanderers keeper, flicked the rebound on to the post and then picked up the ball again to force it home. Another turnover in their own half cost Harris and led to Wanderers equalising. A great move from Harris saw Alfie Ackerley finding Robbie Somerville whose first time pass to Fraser Allan at the top of the D was flicked narrowly wide of the top corner. Another fine move led to Harris taking the lead. Ben Graham picked out Alfie Ackerley and his pass was placed wide of the keeper by Grant McInroy.
Half Time Harris 3 Wanderers 2
Harris made a bad start to the 2nd half when an attempted long ball through the middle was intercepted and gave Wanderers the chance to equalise. Passing in the first half had been productive for Harris but was not nearly as sharp in the 2nd half and although Wanderers take credit it was partly self inflicted with too much dribbling and forcing play. Wanderers led 4-3 following a long ball down the middle and extended their lead to 6-3. Harris looked to have scored an overtime consolation corner through Fraser Allan but the goal was disallowed as the push out did not come out of the D.
